Ur-Dragon Health Bar

I'm a level 133 Ranger & fought the Ur-Dragon online about an hour ago (1pm EST) and he was down to 3. Fought for approx. 30 mins, but health bar didn't move at all. Left & went back 10 mins later - health was up to 4. Fought again & same thing happened. Killed him offline but want to know if there is a specific way to defeat him online or is it just a matter of zoning in at the right time(s)? Thanks in advance for any help/advice given!
