Answer from: MaZari
You need to find lava and mix water with it, it does make cobblestone but eventually makes obsidian. I could be wrong but thats how it worked in the PC version.

Use 3 iron Ingots to craft a bucket. go to the water and push LT to fill it up. dig down in a cave, almost to bedrock, until you find a pool of lava. it cant be that hard to find. its best if you can reach the ceiling over the pool. aim the crosshairs at the ceiling over the lava, and push LT with the bucket to pour the water out. the water will then flood the bottom of the cave, turn any lava it touches into obsidian, as long as the lava was stationary (as in the pixels of the lava arent moving) or else it will just become cobblestone. use the bucket again to scoop up the same block of water that you placed. it has to be the same block or else the water wont disappear. all you have to do now is mine the obsidian with a diamond pickaxe. bam, easy obsidian

Answer from: AllmightyCraft1
What I did was I got 3 Iron Ingots and crafted them into a bucket. Go to a water pool and fill the bucket. Then I went around until I found a pool of lava. Then I poured the water into the lava. After a couple seconds it made obsidian. NOTICE: You can only mine obsidian using a Diamond Pickaxe. (Pocket edition).
