How do you write messages on walls?

Yo dont people put signs against the wall

It's pretty simple you go to the crafting bench then go to the last section called decorative. After that you'll see a sign at the end of the row. Highlight the sign and press A. You'll need 6 wood planks and a stick. In the TU9 update that's coming up should make the signs so to use wooden slabs instead of planks.
