Any tips for finding rare minerals?
I've found tons of coal, iron ore and even redstone but I can't find anything rarer. Is there any particular way you should mine?

Dig down to bedrock then mine 12 to 14 steps up and mine around if you see dirt or gravel try dig it out because me and my friend found 11 diamonds doing this digging around at this level may also find a cave. Good Luck :)

You must explore alot.. sometimes you will come across a cazum with water flowing down into the darkness that leads to giant areas underground filled with every mineral you could want, sometimes diamond is abundant in some caverns..try to dig halfway down then dig in circles.. it takes time and luck no real way to find it on any other method. make sure you know how to get back out..or you might be trapped FOR EVER!!!!unless you dig up...but then you might dig up into lava and die and loose all your diamond happend to me lots of times and i didnt play minecraft for about 3 months.. ahah

If your looking for hardcore mining just head down to bedrock and go up about 5-10 layers. Then mine straight for a good distance. Stop pick a different direction and continue.

Dig a staircase down to bedrock go 4 blocks up and then dig a room me and jack found 43 diamonds

Don't know how but dig down with redstone item till bedrock the dig up between.5 and 10 times and dig a room and you should find gold and dimond xx

Find a dungeon on easy mode (easier to find diamond and gold on easy). Dig from the dungeon down in a staircase pattern until bedrock. Go four blocks up and dig left or right dig a BIG room(100-200 blocks wide, 100-200 blocks long, in a square. Garunteed to work. Helpful? I LOVE CREEPERS! (name suggestes)

Dig down in a sandy area to stone then try to make stairs down to bedrock then you might find a cave me and bryce found 30 diamonds in a cave. (goog luck :)

When you see lava look around and you'll probly find some diamond

All you need to do is just dig straight down but dig with 2 sqaures then like go on one block dig down then drop down and keep doing that until you find a cavern and bring loads of torches and ladders then us the ladders to get out :D
