I have found iron ore but when i i use the pickaxe it only deystroys it. how do i get it so i can make iron

If the pickaxe is wooden it won't work.

The picax has to at least be stone or it will just destroy it! Duh!

Are you using a stone pickaxe, or is your pickaxe on final use if it's not that your minecraft may be glitched up

Its not allowed to be wooden its got to be stone, iron, diamond or gold

Your pickaxe was either on final use (happened to me with redstone) or it's wooden

The pickaxes you can use are stone, iron, and diamond. Gold a wooden pickaxes CANNOT mine iron ore.
