Question & Answers
Supply run mission 16
How fast, how high, and how do you make the first drop? I've enjoy playing the game, but I'm stuck on this part. Any suggestions please.

Same here, been trying to get it right, but nothing works. Keep on dropping supplies and don't know how to get it right.

So i finally beat this mission!! After 50 tries! But i notice you got to keep the plane level and slow! So to those cant get pass the first drop try slow and level! GOOD LUCK!!
Answer from: Krittur
Did it low and slow. Just like a bomb drop, make it land in the middle of the tents. Don't have to be level. I did it dive bomb with the Cat. Just land it in the middle of the tents should work.

I was enjoying this game up until this mission 16 air drop. I have tried every possible way, but can't seem to get a drop successful. I have had air drops to me down range and had to go get them. infantry can walk outside their camp to get a stupid drop. This mission is ruining this game for me.

Well, dropping the supplies is not the hard part of the mission. Just use the drop indicator while slowing down the plane. The hard part of the mission though is right after the supply dropping is completed where you ve got to fight several ground troops assaulting the airbase... using the plane's machine gun ! Good luck with that... cause i 'm still stuck after 30-40 attempts!

With my first attempt on the first drop site, I failed perhaps three times, and then got lucky. I don't know what I did differently to make it work. I went on to the second drop site, fought and destroyed four enemy fighters, and then wasted an hour or more trying over and over to repeat the technique that worked on the first drop site. Hitting the center of the camp is not the answer. Being on a slow, level flight path is not either. Diving down on the camp from above does not work. After dozens of failed drops using numerous variations of approach and target, I ended up quitting. The next night I started over, spending nearly another hour re-attempting the first drop-site, but to no avail. I am about to conclude that this is yet another bug in this game, and one of several flaws I have discovered in my pre-ordered XBox 360 version. I have been forced to replay several missions because of these bugs, including bullets/weapons without impact or damage and lock-ups in which the plane disappears from the screen and the game progress is otherwise terminated while game sounds continue uninterrupted in the background If it weren't for the redeeming qualities of the game (when they work), I would give it a rating of zero (and by that I do not mean the much higher-quality Japanese enemy planes of the same name I have fought in several other games). Obviously, someone failed in quality-control on this game, from programming to publishing. Shame on those who steal from us by promoting their products as prime rib while disguising what is actually more like chopped liver (no offense to those who prefer the later).

Easiest way is dive straight down from very high going very slow. Other way not as easy is low level and fast and use pov to monitor bomb sight. Use reflex mode to slow time for even easier drop. Then fail hundreds of times on the Jap ground troops assaulting base. Unbeatable?
Answer from: tom
The resupply drops need to be from level flight or a slight dive. keep the plane close to the drop point after the drop. don't get too low the parachute on the cargo will not have time to open. The main thing is not to get too far from the target after the drop.

Thank you all for ur comments. I agree with ur answers, and add one more. all the above and when left trigger hold it down to show supply drop landing. worked first time.
Answer from: Paul
I agree with John. After the drop your base is attacked by the Japanese and there is no way to defeat them in the shit box Cattalina your given. Especially when the only weapon is a stupid gun. I have given up on the game because of that. Bloody stupid.

OMG I have played the assault part over 100 times and I feel like I'm getting so close but I always either crash or they take over the base with what looks like 3-5 Left to kill! So annoying!
