Difusing Bombs, Please help

Can anyone please tell me why everytime Im defending my line and the computer side puts up a bomb I can never catch it. Its the main way I conceed points and Im ready to smash the game to pieces.

I was the same and was ready for smashing the tv. When the kick goes up just keep pressing the Y button and someone will catch it. Not missed one yet by continually pressing Y until it is caught.
