Door in chapter 7

Im stuck on chapter 7. i am at the part where you run across the wing of the plane and then go up a ladder where you save your game and then go through a door. the door will not open for me. the light on the door is green which usually means its unlocked but when i walk up to it, i dont have the option of opening it. anyone have any suggestions?
