I'm at the first memory being altair, i climb the tower and then i'm stuck, i cant grab the plank sticking out. where do i go?

When youre standing under the right under the ledge but ontop of the balcony hold RT and press a then let go and he'll jump straight up. (that on 360)

Just run up the wall next 2 it, n wen he stops 4 a second in midair b4 he falls down tap left or right and a and he jumps on it
