Sims 3 control problem

If you have another sim press Y and you will be that sim. Then press Y again and go back to the sim you lost and you will see it

You can't see your sim when it's at work or going into a community building to do something. For example if you send it to work, it'll go in it's workplace buildiing and work, you just can't see or control it while it's working. You can change it's work mode in the action quene but other than tha all you can do is stop it from working. If you go to a restaurant and tell it to eat there it'ss go in and eat but all you will be able to see is the building, but if you look at it's hunger bar, it'll be rising showing that he's eating. So basicaly any actions you can do on the town map ( except for visiting) you can't see your sims but you can see the building. Hope this helps and hope it's not confusing.
