Is there a problem in this game!

I was wondering if there's a glitch in this game. there's a suicide letter in case 2 but it won't let me lift i can't figure it out can't go any further til i have it. please help. thanx

There are finger prints on letter then you can pair them up

Almost finished with case two i was told i have a warrant available for jane but when i go to talk to the captain it just says "thanks jeff"
