Where are all the map pieces in chapter 12

No, you don't need to go into the Life gate. They've been decent about that, ALL Elemental Gates are optional. Even though when you buy the game you get a Magic, Water and Tech Skylander, they don't ever put something you NEED behind a gate, not even one of those Elements. Once you get the second piece of the map, there's a button on the wall, which opens up some large doors that will let you walk past the beginning of the level to a light beam puzzle. Solve the light beam puzzle, then in the middle of the red walkway is the third piece of map. The next open area has a large green section in the middle and Zook's "MIRV Mortar" Soul Gem. Open the lock and walk up the steps and then drop down off the end. Up the steps on the left follow the catwalk all the way around and pick up the final piece of the map.
