The golden claw
He ran away and I can't find him or the claw. what should i do?

Yeah, the same thing happened to me i turned around when i cut him down and he was gone then comtinued to play until i realized i needed the claw later on, you will have to restart the game to as close as to when you killed the spider then when you cut him down, follow him and he will attack you. kill him and take the claw ^^

Yeah just load the game from the closest possible time then just play on. i also turned round untill he shouted then i just turned to him and chased after him

He will die anyway, you don't have to kill him, a spider will, as you continue onward you will come upon his corpse, he will have the claw on him.

Yeah, I was figuring out how to open the door that needed the golden claw, but I got stuck as my lvl 12, my highest leveled profile, & I had to restart as an Argonian, level 4 trying to find & kill the dragon that destroyed Helgen!!
