Skyrim -picked up quest item before activating quest

Picked ebony blade with glitch, im at mission requiring item, i have it and quest wont register as item being picked, is their a way to fix this or is their something i can do?

I think you should just try to ignore that the game thinks you don't have it and use it. You can still beat the quest but that part won't be completed.
