Mercenaries 2 is a third-person shooter set in the vast map of Venezuala. I was hyped up about this game but i'm slightly dissapointed.


The gameplay is pretty awful. It's not like your average shooter and it has no cover system dissapointingly. Car handling is crazy and un-reponsive and overall the gameplay reminds me of the Spider Man games. As for the story, it's boring and useless to follow.


Graphics are absoulutely awful. For a next-gen action packed shooter which we've been waiting about for, for almost a 2 years now, the graphics are such a let down. Water effects are dissapointing also. Destruction is the only thing that the game can redeem itself with. It has nice realistic destruction especially when bringing down large buildings. However even they dont leave debris most of the time.


Speech quality is annoying and depressing. Destroying things doesnt sound right and the amount of times NPC's shout out the same lines over and over again make you want to ditch them into a river. A very badly animated river.


I guess all those completionists may want to complete all quests and destroy some more buildings but no amazing replay value here.


Worth renting, but prepare to be let down for those of you hyped up about Mercs 2. Just like I was.
