Reducing the throttle isn't the hard part When approaching the carrier make sure u move to the left side of the carrier that's when a rope will hold your air craft from speeding off the carrier.

To reload missiles land on any base or aircraft carrier and come to a complete stop. all of the shot missiles will come back
Carrier is always heading to N (000 degrees) while sailing, so make sure you also follow this direction while approaching. You can check your heading switching to full screen view (the one with no cockpit view and no aircraft chase view, with a big HUD instrumentation) and reading the indication on the top.
Notice anyway that the deck runway is slightly shifted to the left, so its true direction is about 355 degrees. This means that you should approach keeping your heading to 358 degrees.
Start by checking your radar (green circle at the bottom-left corner). Tap on it until you select "CARRIER". Now set your speed at around 200 KTS (throttle half-way) and fly toward the ship. If you are correctly heading for it, you will see a green square on the HUD indicating where the carrier is. The radar will alway tell you how much far away you are from the carrier. When you are distant less than 2 miles, you will see on the radar a triangle with a bar on its base: this is the carrier. The bar indicates the tail of the ship, i.e. where you must head the aircraft.
The secret to make a good landing is to prepare you aircraft for time, so you will not have to deal too much with the landing gear, throttle and flaps. REMEMBER: optimal touchdown speed is between 155 and 165 KTS, depending on how extended your flaps are. I suggest an extension of 20 (2nd notch) of flaps and an approach speed of 160 KTS.
Set this values IN ADVANCE, i.e. much time before being close to the deck, and only after you have lowered the landing gear. This will leave your attention for dealing only with the asset of the aircraft (pitch, bank, roll) and you will not get distracted by other things. Playing too much with throttle during the approach may result in stall, missing the deck, or crash on the deck due to overspeed.
Now that you have extended your landing gear and set your speed stably, head your aircraft towards the ship. Try aligning with the deck by heading 000 degrees and in the same time pointing exactly to the base of the triangle.
Use the heigth indicators visible at the right of the radar to know if you are too low or too high. Ideal condition is having a green dot lit. A red arrow pointing up means you are too low. A red arrow pointing down means you are too high. Correct accordingly WITHOUT TOUCHING THE THROTTLE, but rather slightly pulling up the aircraft (to gain heigth) or applying shortly airbrake a few times (to loose heigth). Always check VERY FREQUENTLY your speed: never lower it under 150 KTS, or you will stall and crash!! When you will be less than 1 mile from the deck, you will be able to see four wires crossing the runway: those are the stopping wires ("arrestor cables") to which your aircraft hooks itself to stop. You MUST touch the deck with your wheels BEFORE the wires, otherwise the aircraft will NOT stop and will fall down on the other side of the ship in sea!
Remember that you should approach the deck having a very stable asset and being perfectly horizontal. Wings must be parallel to the sea. If you do not touch the deck with your rear wheels at the same time, chances are that the aircraft will roll over itself and crash!
Once you touch the deck, IMMEDIATELY apply full throttle. This will save your ass in case you miss the arrestor cables: you will have enough speed to take-off without plunging in the sea ...
