Getting the Confection Gift Box
One of the tasks in Chapter 5 requires Kiryu to find the Confection Gift Box to progress through Chapter 5. It is only available at one store, even though there are many stores in the city of Kamurocho. Go to the M Store Kamurocho to buy the item, which costs $2,000 yen.
Go to Ebisu Pawn Kamurocho to sell items. Go to the far southern area of Kamurocoho city to find it in the last middle block. You can check the map for nearby shop locations. Hover over any of the colored segments to reveal the name of the store.
Transferring money and items between characters
You cannot transfer items or money between Kiryu and Majima until Chapter 6. Progress through the story until Chapter 6. You unlock the Real Estate mini-game in Chapter 6. You will get an objective to go to the Empty Lot. Follow that objective to a wealthy guy in a green suit that teaches you how to use money to district other people. He will give you two optional objectives. One is to go to the Vincent Bar in the North East of town. Go to that objective marker and speak with Fukushima, who is sitting on a bench next to the pool table. He will offer you advice on exchanging items and cash between the two characters. You are limited at first, but these limited are gradually lifted as you progress through the game. When you switch over to Majima, go to the following location to activate it.
Hiding location in Chapter 9
When you return to Kamurocho in Chapter 9, you must find a place hide. However, the game does not give you any hints or map objective markers on where to go. The only hint you get when you stand still and wait for the prompt is: "I need a place to lay low until Tachibana sends word. Where, though...?" Go to the Kazama Family Office to hide.
How to Save Anywhere
Tired of having to save only in phone booths? Then just do this small tweak and be able to save anywhere!
How to Unlock Save Anywhere Functionality
- Go to your AppData folder on OS drive: (usually C:\Users\Your_Nick\AppData).
- In AppData\Roaming\Sega\Yakuza0 find file "settings.ini".
- Open this file, change "SaveAnywhere=0" to "SaveAnywhere=1", save file, and you're ready to go.
- Now there will be Save/Load options in pause menu:
- Yakuza 0 - How to Save Anywhere
How to make money!
- At the CP Shrine there is a shakedown upgrade for Kiryu, get this.
- Kind of optional but needed for never before seen results.
- Get money from Real Estate Royale.
- Buy knives and taurniers.
- Find Mr Shakedown, Using the Encounter Finder will help (He appears as a large purple arrow on the map).
- Let Mr Shakedown beat you up.
- Find Mr Shakedown again.
- Spam heat moves (Higher difficulties mean heat damage drops off faster so you could lower the difficulty to speed up the process).
This works due to the previously mentioned upgrade giving you 1.5x money from Mr Shakedown so if he stole 10 billion from you and you come back to beat him you'll get 15 billion.
Sadly Majima cannot get this upgrade but his business provides enough money through completion to get most if not all of the upgrades on the 3 main styles.
However at the point of no return (Chapter 17/Epilogue) you'll be able to transfer any amount of money between characters using Mr Moneybags which helps a lot since Majima needs a lot of money for The Dragon and Tiger.
Easy "Generosity of Strangers" Achievement or Trophy Guide
Once you've reached a 100% share of an area—for example, the Leisure King area—you can have a street bystander light your cigarette for you while you stand idle. Look for the people who bow to you as you pass. This can be also done on Majima's minigame, but it's faster to do Kiryu's. The man standing on Tenkaichi Street, nearby Serena, seems to do this pretty consistently. He only appears in the evening so if you're on Premium Adventure, you can change the time setting to find him.
Easy "Smooth Criminal" Achievement or Trophy Guide
In Chapter 3, you will be asked to head to the Odyssey to prepare for making some negotiations with the manager, Yamagata. Majima will getting some intel before talking to him. That intel comes from speaking to and overhearing other NPCs around town, followed by looking around at other customers' tables at the Odyssey. There are 3 NPCs to interact with who will give intel about the Odyssey. One is located along Bishamon Bridge, another is around the corner of Bunzaemon Outdoor Mall, and the last one is right near the taxi in Shofukucho South. Once you've interacted with all three, go back to the Odyssey and enter. Inside the Odyssey, you'll have to look around the club and examine all 4 other tables to get an impression of the place. Zoom into all four of them for further intel on the cabaret and how it might be struggling. Optionally, you can also zoom into Mr Libido over at the stairs, though this may not be needed for the achievement. Once all this intel has been gathered, head over to the Grand to discuss with Yamagata. After the conversation, the achievement should pop.
Easy "Cat Scratch Fever" Achievement or Trophy Guide
This requires that you win the Final round of a tournament 3 times in a single save file. It does not have to be all in a row, just overall. There are a few things to remember while grinding this as it is mostly luck that is going to push you through. The amount you gamble does not matter for this achievement alone but there is a completion list requirement for money. I choose to do these separately to save my sanity as no matter what, the game can just decide to make you lose. Few tips to help you out.
1. Pick Jennifer. The stats on her attacks are mostly 5 star so she gets the best damage output.
2. Cheering your girl on is rigged. As much as the game makes you think spamming buttons makes a difference, it really doesn't. Even though you lose if you don't mash buttons, equally the game predetermines whether or not you'll lose regardless. So if you lose and you're spamming buttons as fast as you can, it was not on you. So don't mash yourself to death, just mash at a steady pace enough to push the meter forward and the game will choose the winner.
3. When picking Rock Paper or Scissors the opponent is SUPPOSED to have the highest chance to pick their highest star attack. Though of course the game can just not do that. Therefore sometimes it can be good to focus on letting them hit you with their lowest star attack and shoot to beat their highest star attack. As an example, If an opponent has 5* rock 3* scissors and 1* paper, then picking rock all the time is the wisest choice. You'll always beat their highest power rock, tie with scissors and take the lowest damage paper. However the damage difference isn't the biggest and if they get a rainbow attack randomly it doesn't matter how strong it is you'll likely lose the fight so don't get discouraged just try again.
4. Prepare for the grind. Can be a long journey of pure non-sense but its just a grind of luck and RNG so watch a movie while you let Yakuza take you for a ride.
Infinite Money Glitch
At one point in the game, there is a sub story and you will get in a dance battle with Miracle Johnson. After you get slaughtered, he asks you to pick a prize. PICK BLACK. This will get you the encounter finder. When you equip it, it will show you the location of Mr. Shakedown on the map. This isn't necessary for the money trick, but it will save you a ton of time and grief having to manually find Mr. Shakedown every time you are looking for him! Next you want to make sure you have spent the CP at the shrine so you get more money from Mr. Shakedown after you win. Then you want to start the process of losing and winning over and over, making more money each time you win. In a short time, you can easily max out the money counter to buy stats, real estate, and even send money to Majima!
To unlock the following, you have to play the game and collect/Earn achievements. You can find those earned achievements in your Game-Main menu or you can view them if you signup at one of the Steam communities.
