Easy "Attracted to You" Achievement or Trophy Guide

Of all the hidden bosses introduced with Binary Stars, this is one of the hardest.

To spawn it, you need to select the Ancient Power upgrade after beating a boss. Once selected, a blue oval ship will appear on the next level. It moves through the middle of the screen, right to left, and can only be hurt by the ancient power lightning (that instantly attacks anything near to you). If you destroy this oval ship, then the Alien Ship secret boss will appear at the start of a future level.

There are several stages to the fight. First, it shoots blue and purple large oval fireballs, which are fairly easy to avoid. Next, it will shoot a large laser at your ship. After this, there's a bullet hell section, as the Alien Ship shoots blue and purple small fireballs around the screen - there's a small corridor you can follow which is safe.

After this, you may think you've beaten the boss, but no! It splits into several sections. And from here on, each time you destroy a section, it then splits into more, smaller sections, until they split into four sections that don't shoot but try to ram your ship. The sections will shoot large lasers; spawn obstacles (that can be destroyed); shoot purple, tracer-style lasers; and shoot blue, unaimed lasers. As you can imagine, there is a lot going on, so it can be hard to keep track of what section is doing what. Focus on avoiding attacks, and destroying the smallest possible sections, and you should be OK.

If you're having trouble finding the Ancient Power upgrade, it will appear using spawn seeds 513195487, after the second boss. I beat it on this seed using the Fortress ship, selecting the upgrades for Next-Gen Heavy Weapons (to get the missile module), Ancient Power (obviously), and then Damage Boost. One of the supply ships should drop a bot weapon, which makes this fight much easier. Good luck!
