  • Tip 4: While using your sidearm, you cannot anticipate to win one on one versus a player Assault or Medic Class.
  • Tip 5: It is bad to remain in a single place, after assaulting enemies, keep changing places so that enemies cannot sneak up on you.

All Field Manual locations

Search the indicated locations in the listed war story to find all the Field Manuals. There are a total of 66 Field Manuals in the five war stories. Some missions do not have a Field Manual in them. Find all collectibles to get the "Enough For A Library" achievement. Each Field Manual is saved instantly when collected. Thus, you can quit out to the main menu immediately without losing any progress. You do not have to collect them again when you die and none of them are missable. You can view how many Field Manuals you have found in each mission and how many are missing under the mission selection screen. You can also pause a mission at any time to view your collectible progress. Every mission has a Codex Entry for finding all the Field Manuals in it. The codex entries are also required for several other achievements.

Hidden Cavalry Sword

In the "Breakdown" mission in the "Through Mud And Blood" war story, proceed along the road to the French village where you need to collect parts for your broken tank. This is the village with the windmill on the hill overlooking the town. Once you reach the village, look for a two-story house on the left with a mounted machine gun on the balcony and a soldier looking out the window, directly above a corner door. This is a building on the main street, near the edge of the town facing the windmill. Directly beneath the machine gun turret is the Cavalry Sword under a table on the first floor.

The World's Tiniest Gun

Reach Rank 10 in Multiplayer mode to unlock the Kolibri for purchase for 150 warbonds. The Kolibri is a pocket-sized gun held between the thumb and index finger. It fires 2mm bullets, and was (at one point) available commercially to the public. The magazine holds 8 rounds. The gun is so small, it cannot be held in the palm of your hand. Instead, you have to pinch the pistol's grip between the forefinger and thumb to get a grip. There really is no other gun quite like it. The 2mm bullets barely inflict any damage to your opponents, but you can still earn kills with it. It is more used as a novelty taunt, as nobody wants to get killed by the tiniest gun in history.

How to Destroy Tanks Easily

In Battlefield 1, the Assault Class is an anti-vehicle class which has mines, AT Grenades, Rocket Guns, Dynamites and other tools which are very useful for a tank hunter. First, you need to grab the tool which you know you are best with. Like for example, Dynamites, where you need to judge the tank's movement before you throw or attack it. Note: Always take cover and keep moving in and out to avoid the return fire. Next, you can try are the AT Mines which should always be placed in the area that leads to the Capture point. This will not only slow them down but also drains the nearby enemies health. Lastly, you can use the AT Rocket Gun to aim and destroy the mini tanks or half damaged tanks. Hint: If you have a Pilot in touch then, coordinate with them and ask them to help you with backup.

Various Gameplay Tips

Once you get started with the Battlefield 1 massive multiplayer battles, charge in on foot as infantry, lead a cavalry assault, and battle in fights so intense and complex you won't know which way is up. So here we are to provide you with simple tricks that you need to use and turn the tide of battle in your favor.

  • Tip 1: Players who choose to be with Assault Class can use the AT Rocket Gun which will auto-deploy when you are near Window at C. From here you can fire from the cover and easily take down a couple of enemies.
  • Tip 2: Assault class can also counter the armored train on foot by anticipating on a cap with Assault Mines and mine the tracks before it reaches. Players using the assault launcher, to pop out of cover and fire off a shot. Also, the Bipods will deploy when peeking around corners.
  • Tip 3: If you are the one with Support Class and have anti-tank grenades then keep refilling it with your ammo pouch by putting one down.
  • Tip 4: For capturing F, keep an eye out for the snipers (above you), For capturing C, try to cap it inside the building and finally for Cap D, try it from inside the shed across the tracks.
  • Tip 5: You can try to Lock the Steel Doors which the enemies can't open it without destroying it. Also, stop unlocking when you are busy defending flags in operation mode.
  • Tip 6: Players on Ottoman side can try rushing C and using the emplacement Howitzer overlooking F. This will not only net you tons of kills but also stop the enemy team from attacking C after they capture F.
  • Tip 7: Looking for Big Weapons? Then take a look at Point B for Flamethrower, Point F for Heavy Gunner and Point E for Anti-Tank Rifle. These weapons will spawn in every 5 minutes after the flag is captured. Similarly, the AA guns can be found at E, D, and C.
  • Tip 8: While in rush game modes try to smash a small hole out of the bottom corner of windows when defending to get a good field of view of the outer city telegraph poles. When defending A, you can find a pathway which has the most enemy
  • Tip 9: vehicles to attack. You can either plant both dynamite charges in that area or get the free vehicle kill.
  • Tip 10: In order to stop enemies in the area between B and C, you can always prefer to use the Machine Gun turrets at D. The anti-air turrets at D and C will make sure you get a good at killing.
  • Tip 11: Using Anti-vehicle turrets? Try turning them with A and D then use the mouse to make a precise aim. Mostly you will find these on the defender side with one on the left flank behind the first telegraphs.
  • Tip 12: In the settings, change the color of hitmakers so that when you take a headshot its the same color and changes when you get a kill. Similarly, you can turn on emplacement icons on the minimap in the settings menu.
  • Tip 13: All the support class players that are using LMG, try to do short microbursts of 5-8 shots and avoid tap fire, holding down the trigger.
  • Tip 14: While in an urban area, Cover is very crucial and try walking more and peaking around corners instead of just blindly running around. The best tip to avoid exposing is to sit next to the edge of a wall and aim down sights.
  • Tip 15: The best way to kill your enemy is by shooting from the hip when in close quarters and only aim down sights for medium and long range engagement.
  • Tip 16: For a squad leader, the only place you can spawn is with your teammates. So make sure at least one of the squad members is alive. To gain a lot more XP, complete squad leader tasks.
  • Tip 17: Light Transport Vehicle has a loadout with an AA gun which displays 6 shots but actually has infinite ammo. While capturing the flag you can try to flank enemies instead of going straight towards them. Spam the Q button to spot when you blink.
  • Tip 18: Simply Press 'V' to set the range of your scope to 75,150,300m(if Recon). To test the distance, you need to Fire a few rounds at each setting.
  • Tip 19: If you are taking cover and don't want to expose then simply Press 'Q' if you are Medic, as this will throw bandages to heal your teammates.

KingKalsi, Oct 25, 2016

Various Medic Class Tips

  • Tip 1: The First and the most important tips to start with always stick with your teammates. As your job is to heal and revive, make sure you are close to them and safe.
  • Tip 2: Healing one squad at a time. We have seen entire squad dying while trying to take an objective as the Medic was busy healing another squad. Healing your squad net you more points, but it saves a lot of time and energy. Stick with One Squad.
  • Tip 3: If you are away from your teammate then always refer to your Mini-map and know where what is happening. If any of your teammates needs Medic then it will be displayed on the map and you know here exactly to go.
  • Tip 4: You can always heal yourself so make sure you heal as your team won't win if the only Medic in the squad is dead. So if you are hit then throw health packs and run over it. Your objective here is to throw health packs at your teammates frequently and keep them alive on the Battlefield, but if you see them surrounded by enemies and snipers then run away from that area to save your points.
  • Tip 5: If you manage to continuously heal and cover fire from the versatile Medic rifle then you could hold a final choke point against very strong opposition until the counter ran down.
  • Tip 6: Firing will be the last resort and aim with Medic weapons is slightly difficult due to lack of recoil. So it's better to keep practicing to perfect and make sure every shot deals damage to the enemies.
  • Tip 7: The Best loadout for Medic is the Auto Revolver(M1911) which you'll only need to hit them once if they're hurt already. Cei-Rigotti Factory for medium range as it has quick recoil and spread reset allows you to shoot fast.

Morse code translation

While at a capture point and calling in an artillery strike, you will hear a short radio message and a string of Morse code over the telegraph. The translation of the Morse code message used in-game is simply the word "Morse".

Easy "Counter-sniper" Achievement or Trophy Guide

This requires you to play as the Scout class in a multiplayer match. In the deployment/respawn screen you can press Triangle to customize your weapons. Select the weapon "SMLE MKIII Marksman". This is the starting weapon for the Scout class and is unlocked automatically from the beginning. Now kill an enemy sniper with it (2 hits to the body or 1 hit to the head). Camp on a mountain or behind a rock on the edge of the map. Enemy snipers can be seen by the reflection of light in their scopes. Remember you can set the target distance by pressing the DOWN-Button.

There's a good chance this trophy comes naturally while ranking up with the Scout class.

Powerpyx, Nov 1, 2016

Easy "Play the Objective" Achievement or Trophy Guide

The quickest way to get this is by completing your own orders when you are squad leader. Here's how you do it:

Start a new Conquest match > press Square to create a new Squad (the important part is that you are the squad leader) > during a match hold R1 to set a new squad order. This will let you select a flag to capture. Upon capturing the selected flag the squad order will be complete. Do 25 of your own squad orders to unlock the trophy.

You can do this solo. No other players need to be in your squad. Only squad leaders can issue orders, which is why you should create a new squad. When you are squad leader you have a star behind your name. You can also make the squad private by pressing R3 on it.

You don't absolutely have to be squad leader to make this count, but it's the fastest way to get it solo. You can also play together with friends and when they are squad leader have them issue you an order.

There are reports of this trophy not unlocking at 25 completed orders. A fix that worked for many players is to do 25 orders on one and the same server (without disconnecting from it, in one sitting).

Powerpyx, Nov 1, 2016

Easy "Warbonds" Achievement or Trophy Guide

This will come naturally when you go for rank 10 in multiplayer. Each time you rank up a few warbonds will be earned.

Powerpyx, Nov 1, 2016

Easy "Corporal" Achievement or Trophy Guide

You rank up by earning XP, which are awarded for almost anything you do in Multiplayer (killing enemies, capturing flags, defending objectives, completing objectives, destroying enemy vehicles, damaging enemies, helping teammates with revives or ammo refills etc., squad members spawning on you, someone in your vehicle kills someone, doing squad orders...).

A quick way to rank up is by capturing flags in Conquest. Additionally, you may mark objectives if you are the leader of a squad (nobody else has to be in the squad, it can be just you). Completing the objectives you set for yourself will give bonus XP. You can create a new squad by pressing Square in the squad overview. When you are squad leader you have a star behind your name. You can also make the squad private by pressing R3 on it. Now as the squad leader hold R1 to create a Squad Order. In Conquest you can select a flag as your objective. When you capture that flag and set a squad order on it you get more XP.

Easy "Assault Enlistment" Achievement or Trophy Guide

The fastest way to get this is by playing conquest and capturing as many flags as possible. You have to play as Assault class. This will take roughly 3 hours of playtime, depending on skill.

There are reports of this trophy not unlocking when it should. A fix that worked for many players is to rank up two more times on one and the same server (without disconnecting from it, in one sitting). With patch 1.02 and above the trophies should unlock normally now. They have popped for some players in the loading screen after reconnecting to the online servers.

They are automatically marked as main objectives and impossible to miss. The Ottoman Officers wear a different outfit than the rest of the soldiers (black coat). For this trophy / achievement you must get real close to them and perform a melee kill with your knife. You can ride past most enemies with your horse, rush to the Officers and quickly kill them. Dong this will also complete the codex entry "T.E. Lawrence".

Powerpyx, Nov 1, 2016

Easy "The Great War" Achievement or Trophy Guide

Simply complete the Prologue and all 5 War Stories on normal difficulty or higher and watch the credits video at the end (the credits have their own chapter called "Remember Us"). Completing everything on hard difficulty will unlock this, too.

Powerpyx, Nov 1, 2016

Easy "The War to End All Wars" Achievement or Trophy Guide

Simply complete the Prologue and all 5 War Stories on hard difficulty and watch the credits video at the end (the credits have their own chapter called "Remember Us"). Doing this will unlock the other difficulty related trophies too. It is not hard at all. Most missions focus on vehicles or stealth. The vehicle missions are very easy because you can repair at any time. While playing as infantry your health regenerates automatically after a few seconds, so just stay in cover when you are wounded. Sneak past enemies wherever you can, or do the objective as quickly as possible and run away to lose the enemies. The campaign is extremely short and easy, so hard difficulty is recommended for the first playthrough.

Make sure you watch the credits video at the end. This will only unlock after beating every other level. The credits have their own chapter called "Remember Us". The difficulty related trophies will pop after the credits.

Faster ranking in Multiplayer mode

To get approximately 500 to 600 score per minute, do the following:

  • Always play in a squad. Try to play in a squad where all teammates communicate with each other.
  • Play Quickmatch Domination. You get points much quicker in this mode than other modes.
  • Make sure your team focuses on the objective.
  • Have your squad leader issue useful attack commands that get your team points. For example, you normally get 200 points for capturing a base in Domination. However, if your squad leader marks the base, you get an additional 100 points for following his orders. You will also get an "Order Followed" bonus worth up to 80 extra points. Additionally, the squad can separate into two separate groups. The squad leader can then issue commands to attack two separate bases at different times, alternating between bases. If successful, you will get an extra 100 points even though you never captured the other base. You can get a possible 480 points in ten seconds by using this method.
  • The squad leader must always pay attention to all bases. If a base is about to be captured, the squad leader needs to make sure to change the attack orders so everyone on the team gets at least 100 points, even if they are not at that base. Even if you are dead and none of your teammates are at the base being captured, you will still get 100 points for it being captured if the squad leader has attack orders on it.
  • Make sure your squad always sticks together and the squad composition has variety. It is recommended to have at least two medics and two support players. Since there are no vehicles in Quickmatch Domination, assault units are not too useful. Since you are running around a lot and trying to capture bases, the sniper class is also not very useful.
  • If your squad always sticks together, you will get extra points since you will be spawning on each other, spotting enemies, and suppressing enemies with gunfire. You will also receive signifiant points for healing your teammates and resupplying them with ammo.
  • Play the objective and focus on only killing enemies that stand in your way of capturing a base or getting to the next base to capture.
  • The best situation that can occur is circling the map while following the enemy, capturing points that they just captured.

War Story 1: Through Mud And Blood

Over The Top

1. After capturing all three points in the village, proceed up the hill and across the roads until you reach the exterior wall of fortifications made with logs standing on end. Near the exterior wall exit is a weapon station tent with used shells scattered around and the first manual.

2. In the town under bombardment, move to the fortified church on the right side to find a makeshift hospital/barrack inside the structure. Near the large pots is a crate with the manual.

3. There is another crate at the chapel —- leave through the back entrance. Then, turn right (left if you are facing the chapel) to find the manual crate along the exterior of the church structure, next to a large green metal wheel.

4. At Point D, the farm with trenches dug through the premises, is a manual crate near the home on the right, on the grass between the structure and the trench.

5. Follow the road up from the outpost. The road to the left leads up a hill, and contains abandoned cars with AT guns. On the ground next to one of the AT guns is the final manual for this mission, which is right before the bridge at the end of the mission.

Fog Of War

1. When you are fighting through the gun emplacements past the wooden bridge early in the mission, there will be two field guns —- the path strays left into the forest. When it does, turn right and proceed up the hill to find a manual crate.

2. In the old church stone ruins (with the arches above ground), enter the bunker basement and look in the back left corner, opposite the generator, to find a manual.

3. At the heavy bridge with metal girders built over the small creek, look under the bridge (on the far end) for a small flatland with a manual.

4. When you reach the hill with the large concrete bunkers, enter the far left bunker to find a manual crate inside.

5. In the same area as the fourth manual is a small supply depot on the right from the entrance path. Look near the road, behind mounds of dirt, to find a small manual crate near the larger supply crates.

Breakdown

1. Proceed towards the objective in the muddy village with the objective at the center. Before going straight for the white objective marker, look in the shack door in the back left corner of the block to find a manual.

2. Go down the hill and look inside the windmill -- there is a dirt path and a fence between the first manual and the windmill containing the second manual. Climb to the top of the mill to find the manual crate.

3. There is a refueling station and repair depot for tanks in the village below (and right) of the windmill containing the second manual. Go to the fourth floor attic of the large building directly next to the tank repair station in the village, and look behind the traps to find a manual crate.

4. In the same town as the last manual, go to the main street to find a two-story building with an MG turret in the corner window facing the village'd main street entrance. The Cavalry Sword is located under a table near the corner door. Go upstairs to the MG nest to find the manual crate behind some furniture.

5. Start from the location of the first manual and proceed right instead of left. Up the street (with the stone bridge over a creek) on the right side of the village, before entering the main area, look for a farm house with a fenced backyard and an army tent in the back left corner. Opposite of the tent is a storage shack with a manual crate.

Steel On Steel

1. On the outskirts of town, look in the windmill to find a manual crate. You must exit your tank to enter the windmill. This is the upper-most windmill, before going down the hill towards the town.

2. From the previous windmill, go down the hill, past the destroyed encampment, and proceed right towards the river. There is another windmill further down (next to the water) with a manual in the same location.

3. Go to the windmill on the left side from the start (opposite of the second manual, or left of the first manual) to find it down the hill, around the same elevation as the second manual.

4. Proceed through the town. As you exit the main cluster of structures, you will reach a fourth windmill on the right of the street, next to the river with the stone bridge, where the fourth manual is located.

5. From the location of the fourth manual, look in the distance for another windmill across the valley on a hill overlooking the next cluster of buildings, to the right as you move forward. That is the area where the final manual can be found. Cross the stone bridge and go up the hill to reach it.

Weapon skins

Weapon skins can be earned from promotional offers, but mainly through Battlepacks. Weapon skins come in three rarity levels: special, distinguished, and legendary. Battlepacks can be purchased using War Bonds or crafted with scrap. They also come in three rarity levels: standard, enhanced, and superior. Better Battlepacks give you a higher chance of unlocking a rare weapon skin. Enhanced and superior Battlepacks can only be earned by spending scrap.

Scrap is earned by breaking down bonus or customization items —- the higher the rarity level, the more scrap you will earn. After unlocking a new weapon skin, you still must purchase the skin with War Bonds. War Bonds and scrap can be earned in-game. The following is a list of all known weapon skins. Note: This is not the complete list. Check back in the future for more skins, as well as their unlock requirements and rarity.

Easter Eggs

Mirror's Edge: Catalyst reference

During the opening cutscene of the "Through Mud And Blood" war story, you can see the word "Faith" marked in white chalk on the interior of the tank. This is a reference to the game Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, which is another game by the same developer, DICE. Mirror's Edge: Catalyst starred Faith Connors, a parkour expert that helps expose corruption in the futuristic city of Glass.
