Try a level 10 seaweed dragon and a level 10 firefly dragon, i've heard it works. might want to try lots of times though, if it dosen't then try different combonations, with fire, water, earth and ice. it will work soon.

I am breeding a lava dragon and a seaweed dragon.
this is what i think but probly not right:
you need a rainbow habitat crystals touching the breeding caves crystals.
you need a lava dragon and seaweed dragon.
and that's what i think although most people say seaweed and fire fly

To: sissy.richards.....don't give up on dragonvale! take a step back & see if some strategy can be implemented based on the errors. although the rainbow dragon has some chance/luck involved, after 60 unsuccessful attempts, it appears that the problem isn't poor odds, but in the dragons being bred. sounds like you're breeding the same dragons over & over. if you're breeding a seaweed (lvl 10) & firefly (lvl 10) that was purchased or bred (1st generation), they won't produce a rainbow (see rainbow description in the market's "eggs" list). the rainbow contains all 7 elements; therefore, the seaweed/firefly (or w/crystal or lava) must have more than the 2 elements of a 1st generation. if you're breeding seaweed (left) & firefly (right) they should be 2nd or 3rd generation & all 7 elements must exist. and, don't expect a rainbow on the first try; it'll be 2 to 4 breeding attempts before the rainbow arrives (chance/luck element). also, don't forget the rainbow habitat; it should be on the island prior to breeding. good luck!

A "1st generation" dragon is one that contains 2 original elements (i.e., plant + water = seaweed--whether you buy it or breed it, the seaweed is a 1st gen--a hybrid--due to having 2 elements). i highly recommend keeping track of your breeding attempts in detail (name, type, & level of each dragon bred; which order they were placed in--it does make a difference; & the resulting offspring.) then you can review your list & pick-up on patterns, so you'll have a better chance of breeding any dragon. a "2nd generation" dragon is the offspring of two hybrids (i.e., seaweed + lava = flower, this flower dragon now contains 4 elements: plant, water (from seaweed), & fire, earth (from lava). so, you'll need to breed again to gain the missing 3 elements (air, lightning, cold). i'd suggest breeding a different 2nd gen dragon (since you need two to breed) that will contain the missing elements above (thereby you don't have to breed 4th & 5th gen dragons). the "3rd gen" dragon is the offspring from breeding your two 2nd gen dragons. you probably won't have a flower dragon anymore, but you will have a dragon with all 7 elements. both dragons should contain the 7 elements for a rainbow. if a rainbow doesn't occur after 5+ times, & you keep getting the same dragon or same two dragons, something is wrong. check your breeding list & breed different 2nd gen (& 3rd gen) dragons. hope this helps!!

Finally got a rainbow dragon after breeding many times! i tried multiple times combinations of level 10 seaweed and a level 10 firefly, from advice from others with no success. i finally bred level 10 lava and a level 10 seaweed, in that order and got the rainbow dragon. it did take a couple tries but after the third try i got it! now i need help getting the sun and moon dragon if anyone has any tips.

It takes some patience. i got one using a level 10 blue fire and a level 10 quake. my first egg from this pairing yielded a rainbow egg, but none since then, although i have high hopes for this pair.

I think the most successful ways to get a rainbow dragon are either blue fire + crystal, seaweed + firefly or lava + seaweed. I haven't actually got my rainbow dragon yet but I have heard many people get their rainbow dragon using one of those 3 combinations after a few times then voila! I hope this helped!
