When it says to play and Install (for example) Farm Story. Do it. It wont show the reward instantly, but once u install and play it and u go back to Pet Shop Story or any Team Lava Games, It will simply ask u to visit a neighbour or buy any decoration and once u've done that, you will simply earn gems and coins. Works for me. GOOD LUCK

I reset my date and time to get more coins and now my game is under construction, everything is under construction and they are saying I must pay between 1 and 5 gems each to unlock them or I can wait up to 24 hours. So I DO NOT SUGGEST you change the time / date in an attempt to get more coins. Big waste of game time - NOT HAPPY

Complete the cheapest families first (including cheapest upgrades) and visit to collect coins often. Always build starting with the less expensive. Once they're earning money for you, you can get a little more expensive, and so on and so on.
