Question & Answers

How to make a fast ship?

How do you make a fast ship that has lots of weapons and armour? I try but it always goes down to 40 knots, this guy had a ship with 4 46cm cannons (the big ones) and good armour yet he moved really quickly that it was too hard to hit him!

Use one layer of large hull, put 600mm armor on it. make it the shape of yamato ship and make sure There are no edges on the sides. Place the propellors efficient by clickin 'i' and try Some different places. My ship goes 150 knots now with 2 46cm Guns

My ship goes 80 knots...I bought the skeleton with 200 armor and put a large steamer

Answer from: Anerfish
Put large boilers on the ship it will give it more energy to go faster

40 knots? if that's the maximum speed then you have a serious problem with speed. But anyway, just add some funnels. I had a ship before that went to 200 knots with only 3 funnels B's. I also suggest that you lower your number of ballasts (just as much that you can balance the ship)

Answer from: DrHans
Make sure to surround your propellers with blocks. This increases the speed. When you put some blocks at random places, the speed might also increase. Press 'i' after every block to check if the speed is increasing. You might want to use 1/2 or 1/6 blocks for this. I experimented, and I managed to go to a full 70 knots, but it was too fast and I sunk immediately. You should not have this problem of your ship is over 200 stability.

You can use the funnels in the engine section to make it go hella faster.

I put 11 Big engines and 4 medium engines on my modified Yamato shaped cruiser. It can hit about 60 knots while hosting 18 47mm guns,13 76mm gun,6 12.7cm guns,13 20cm guns,13 30.5cm guns,4 30.5cm+ guns and 4 40cm guns. It's not all the speed but it's pretty fast for such a big,fat giant. Making a ship lightweight means the speed goes up,stability goes down. So find the balance

Put lots of huge boilers on your ship. More propellers do nothing. I've got 2 propellers and 4 huge boilers and I go 100 knots.

Posted on: Jun 10, 2012

Answer from: Nogard
Propellors do something: the boilers increase the power you have. the propellors convert it into speed. more propellors means you split your power over more propellors but they have a maximum that they can push. so mix around with numbers until you find your fastest setting ( I usually have 3 to 6 )

I stashed boilers INSIDE my ship, an the speed says 115 knots. Funny thing is, when I dive the ship, it goes 150 knots XD

This may sound ridiculous at first, but when you really try it, you'll be amazed. Put 2 or more large boilers on your ship, then put about 4 propellers on the back. Completely surround your propellers will the hull. Your ship will now go EXTREMELY fast! I have a huge aircraft carrier at 100% weight, and it goes up to 200 knots.

I haven't tried it but I think a couple big boilers with as many propellers u can fit will get u that. Saw that same ship tons of weapons going at 180 knots he had a bunch of boilers and the whole back was covered with around 10-30 propellers

Just surround the propellers with hulls. I did that to my Yamato, it went to over 190 knots. I also tride it on a skeleton with no boilers. It went to 74 knots !

Add an angled boiler on a skeleton + two med boiler and 4 small boiler then add 4 propellers surrounded by hull then add weapons and armor, mine has 200mm light weight armor a 30.5cm+ ,2 30.5cm guns ,some .76cm guns and lots of 15cm guns and it still goes 115 knots

My friend has a battleship shaped like a hammerhead shark and it's top speed is 220 knots. I am not sure how he made it but he has 4 funnels and doubled layer of 600mm lightweight armor. He also put on ballast on the bottom. Yet it flies up and down and you can hardly shoot. He put on 3 46cm tripe and still go at the same speed. Whether or not this is a glitch but it seems legit. He has 28 propellers and the only weak point is that you can't shoot and that you can't ram other ships.

I put 2 propelers and 2 rudders with 4 angled boilers with a flat bottom ship and my ship goes 169.3 going forward and 190.3 going backwards.

Hydroplane. There is your answer. When you bot isn't touching the water as much, like when te bow goes up, leaving less area for water resistance, allows the ship to go faster then the actual specs. Specs only tells you when you boat goes straight, doesn't include spee in air.

I used Skelton, two angled boilers at the back, moved the propellers two blocks back, encased in hull, another two in front with hull in front of those, and a diagonal slope into the water in the front for a 195.2 knot ship.

Modify the free hull to improve its stability in the water and play around with the angles of the blocks positioned at the rear of the boat around the propellers. I slightly modified the hull and placed angled blocks around the propellers at the back. Use the large boilers too and you'll easily get 220 knots. Mine goes to just under 256 knots. Took a LOT of trial and error though. It's quick but makes it really hard to attack and fire. Makes for a good get away though and it's heaps of fun :-)

For me,I bought a Skelton with 200mm armor and stashed my 3 angled boilers, 2 small boilers and a mid-sized boiler from my battleship Uranus. The ship went a crazy 210 knots.

I've used the mikasa and lengthen it and added 4 angled boilers. i used the easy speed cheat seen in many videos where you put large hull all the way up on ether side and half hull in the back. it boasts 3 46cm guns,11 15cm guns 2 depth charge droppers aaaand goes a whole 194.6. I've spend days tweaking it by making hollow spaces in the hull in the back and middle. and one more thing, buy the radar and spy plane, it helps a lot.

I got 195.9 going straight and 195.6 with the wheel at a 45 degree angle. I'm not that heavily armored (3 30.5+) but that's mainly cuz I'm new and can't afford the better guns. However my ship is also very small making it tough to hit. The combination of speed, size and some firepower is very efficient. The body of my ship is very long (20-25 blocks) but only three blocks wide. I also added very thin struts on the side for stability when turning other wise you just loose it at even the slightest turn.

I made my from scratch by making a 200m armour frame and adding 2 medium boilers 4 smalls ones and about 20 side gun with 3 30.5 guns in the front to shoot them down from afar. It's about a 8x12x3 frame that is black as I said was created from the free style model.

I made a huge powerful boat out of the mikasa that has 3 quad cannons and 2 of all the other cannons that goes 100.6 knots, the trick is to have no edges smooth everything out and I use aircraft carrier boilers because they don't add a lot of weight I also have a runway and 4 bombers on my boat

In order to have a fast ship, you should not have too much propellers. I experimented and too much propellers decreased my speed to half. The max you should have(For a regular battleship) is 2. but if your beam is odd (Like the yamato) then you should only put one propeller. Also, too make sure that you dont lose your speed in battle, cover your boilers. Also make your propellers in a 1-2 hole into the ship with blocks surrounding the sides and the top of the prop. Do not surround the bottom or else your ships speed would decrease. Another way to be fast is to decrease drag, which is decreasing you density to decrease the amount of surface touching the water. You can achieve this by making your ship wider and not putting too much weight. Lastly, if you know the speed glitch, use it. If you don't search it up at google or youtube.

Guys, it's SKELTON, not SKELETON, okay? I have a ship that goes 140 knots. It is a skelton with 200mm armor with 2 angled boilers. The propellers are kind of surrounded by blocks but not too much. I have some light armaments because of little money, but I tried to move a 40cm gun from one of my larger ships and the speed only decreased 3 knots, so at least it's not bad.(137 knots) Surrounding propellers with hulls do increase speed. So if this doesn't work on you, don't balme me, it's not like it'll work every time. My other ship has one angled boiler and one gas turbine engine and only goes around 100 knots, still fast though.
