Question & Answers

Which is better? Small, fast ship or big-medium ship ?

Which is better? I currently have a big-normal size ship that can take down the Yamato (sometimes) but sometimes on multiplayer I'm killed by a small light ship with light arms and almost no armor (it has happended twice) once with just a boat another launching fighters at point blank range while zooming around shooting me with light arms. It only took very little damage from my guns . So should I try tactics for my ship or upgrade it to be bigger and stronger (I am currently near max limit of parts) or make it like a speed boat with maybe a mk5 gun and make it fast. (I don't use real money and money is about only 5k until further notice) and I also like my current ship (completely custom made)

I personly fail at making small ships there harder then u think but i say just build a new ship trying out the small ship idea and if it work just transport some smaller guns off your bigger ship and place them on your smaller ship

Oh maybe gigantic is better but add more engines turbine and some heavy armor like 600 and even add some mk45 and 49 guns and make sure add the radars they help you add range but make it on the free design what's your ship looks like?

Well, personally I'm a fan of big barge ships that are 80m wide and about 400m long. My new one isn't even finished yet and has 5000 toughness and 390 stability. This goes to show what barges can do. Oh, and also, 133 knots. Combating fast ships is easy, have a bunch of triple torpedo tubes (I use four) to discourage them from closing in a gap, and otherwise my 18" guns can pulverize it if they don't evade properly. If your ship isn't immune to the MK45 5" gun, your ship needs a big revamp. Also, don't say getting a ship to VIP is impossible freeloading with no jailbreak, because I'm well into VIP with a legitimate ship. Additionally, what armament and stats does your ship have? I can only make rough judgements if it can sometimes beat IJN Yamato, but possibly a single 18" triple turret and a bunch of 16" twins? Anyway, what you need is a nice high armor rating, keeping it above 970 isn't too hard as long as you don't overload on the MK45 5" guns (I just use four). TL;DR: Make a massive barge with 950 or more armor and dump some big guns on it.

Make ur ship out of all armor, use 400 mm lightweight large armor, personally I'd make a big fast ship, trust me, I have a VIP level battleship with like 6 46cm guns, and around 10 mk45s n it is possible to do that without real money, just takes forever to save up that much, I have one propeller on it with 4 angled boilers surrounded by 400 mm lightweight large armor that looks like the mainpart of the ship and it takes a lil to get to it but it reaches 194.4 knots, it's called the battleship killer, or if u wanna make a small ship, make it out of all 600 mm lightweight armor and add 1-4 mk45s to it that should keepu around lvl 4-5, most of those ships don't have much armor n should be easy to take out if u hit the weak areas of the ship n flip em like the back right corner or back left corner, I have a little ship like that called the futuristic destroyer

Small and agile is the best in PvP. I have a ship that can go from 0 to 194.5 in about 5 seconds. Its very useful in PvP because I have a head start because of how fast my speed reaches 194.5. It's lv6 and 300 length and equippeped with MKs,R-Luanchers,mines,and a a few triple barrel guns. I usually attack from far while dodging enemy attacks and set a few mines as i go. its 3200 toughness so it cant take much hits but with it's speed and fast turning you wont get hit often.

Big and fast! 194.4 knots with max size is typical. start small to learn what makes fast. looks do NOT count. physics engine has no clue who newton and berneulli were. Faster than 194 is easy, but you give up weight and stability. i have a mini boat that'll do better than 197 in 2 seconds but flips over at FT from standing start or it would be 1 second. gave up several more knots for stability in pitch, roll, and yaw.

The VIP isn't as great a place as you might think, especially once you first get there--people with more genius or more time grinding for money or more real dollars to spend on things like mines, will take you down quickly. But that's how you learn. I am also a fan of the 80m x 400m ship. Mine has 8 x 46cm guns, 4 x 40cm guns, 4 x Mk45 - 5's, and currently 22 aircraft with room for 20 more. I can knock down the Aircraft 2 stage in about 3.5 minutes.once you get big firepower going, farming goes pretty quickly.

This is a tad off-topic, but I certainly agree there. VIP is a dangerous place full of jailbreakers, and until iOS 7 comes out for iPad 3 I'm just sitting there trying to make a ship that will allow me to noobash in level 1 effectively (6:1 ratio is my goal, my best ships just get 4:1). I just love farming IJN Yamato and IJN Shinano. It's lots of fun when you hear about those jailbreakers who struggle with those levels.

Make your ship have a huge mass my ship had only normal hulls and it took 12 shots from the yamaha before going down and also make the ship steady

Posted on: May 13, 2013

Answer from: Lagoe
Mr Weed, armor is needed badly. A ship made of something like that might take 15 shots, but one made from 400mm armor might take in excess of 150. But yes, bigger is better unless you're against a super carrier.

I have a ship with the 600 armor 46 guns can be attached. I modified it with Yamato armor. I also added about 5 46 guns and a lot more. It goes 108.5 knots. If you see a USS Awesome, that is my ship. Hope this helps someone.

I prefer gigantic superdetroyer aircraft cariers specialy i they are vip. Mine is about 400 long and bout 50 wide and it actualy is very fast and manewbravle. It goes up to 114 knots and has 4 runways and about 50 planes. Took me bout a year to make it legit from scrach. Its based on the old yamato that you could buy

Neither you should make a super armed super fast ship. U should build the 100,000 coin cost 600 mm armor (46 gun can be mounted) ship with more than four gas turbines ,Vulcan cannon, destroyer main mast, two range finders, two reconnaissance planes, two missles, rocket launcher ,4 30.5 guns 46 cm gun 38 quadripple gun, 38 cm gun, 38 Tripple gun, hedge hog, mines and propellers on the bottom to make a submarine too

Answer from: Lagoe
You do know that recon planes' and range finders' effects don't stack, right?
