Question & Answers

Magicians and charging

I think I read that someone... JJJ? said that Magicians (decrease energy consumption) cannot charge awards as it does nothing. Is that correct? I ask because - well several reasons really! For one thing, when I click on pictures and awards, it says I charged them and I get coins and experience unlike when I click on the puzzles which just uses strength but does nothing else. It seems then that maybe I can charge pictures and awards but not puzzles.

I would really like to know because I have a few great friends whose pictures are almost all Magister level. I don't know if they still do the pictures but sometimes I click on their awards (the orb and pyramid) hoping that at the very least my clicking those does something for them. Am I really simply wasting strength?

I am a magician and I charge awards for my friends all the time. The orb and pyramid when charged give out double required items, like 10 carrots instead of 5. And clicking the dove adds more strength to their inventory, but I am not sure how much more. So I do those awards mostly. For pictures, I try to do the highest point value ones so that the decrease is worth it. Venice decreases by 3 points at Magister, but Eastern Bazaar at Magister decreases by 7. Of course, the decrease depends on which level the picture is at so I assume lower levels have smaller decreases.

Thanks JustPlainSue! I also only used to charge the pictures that give the largest decrease. I got bored though because it was always the same few pictures so this past two weeks I changed it up. Now that I know that a magician CAN charge awards, I will be adding back to my rotation with more confidence!

Hey, Ari, I've been looking for you. I posted last week that I had two of you. I saw the question posted & have been checking for an answer but now I can't find my original post anywhere! So, are you at L75 now? My other Ari was holding at 57 & was deleted by me. Did you lose progress & have to restart? Please respond. I hope I've deleted the inactive account correctly.

To your original question, in my humble opinion strength is never wasted. I think we all know that since our charges are overwritten the chance of our friends actually seeing our charge is minute (& obviously based on the frequency of friends' visits & number of friends visiting. Im a sleuth, so 5/7 of my allotted charges go to pictures (unless the scene has been played to magister level, like you mentioned). The other two (or more) go on awards.

Hi Mojo, I thought maybe after I replied (twice because hours later the first reply still hadn't shown up) that the question was deleted before I saw the reply post. I am the female avatar Ari and currently level 77.

What happens at Magister level? Is that picture "solved" and no longer playable?

Nevermind, I looked up the question about the Magister level.

Thanks Ari! I dropped the correct one, phew! It's discouraging to post & then have to track & deal with deletions. Glad I "found" you. I'm working on a deliberate reduction but have a lot of very active friends & am having trouble making decisions. It needs to be a thoughtful process & requires beaucoup patience. Thanks again!

I think it was said that charging puzzles does nothing, not awards. Charged awards definatly are helpful to your friends no matter what profession charged them.
