Boulders at bridge?

Does anyone know how to break through the boulders in various Havenholme locations? Especially the big one on the southern facing bridge at the third or fourth section.

Anyone actually managed to break through the big rock? We can see on the map there is more to the island but can't get past it

You will have previously completed that area at the start of the game before attaining the map and the boulders fall into place after meaning that you cannot return there.
